Remember your own bag

An estimated one trillion plastic bags are used and discarded worldwide each year.

The sheer scale of waste is entirely avoidable, we simply need to refuse & reuse.

Brewing instructions:

  • Step 1

    Get a few reusable bags

The more sturdy the bag, the more it can be reused time and again before needing to be repaired.

Buying a few super compact bags and leaving them in your coat pockets, backpacks, and handbags can help ensure you have a spare bag when you need it.

  • Step 2

    Remember the bag

A reusable bag is no good if it's at home, and buying a bag for life on every shopping trip is even worse.

Keeping your bag somewhere visible, right by the front door for example, will help ensure you remember it before leaving the house.

  • Step 3

Encourage others to ditch their bag

Challenge your friends and family to ditch their single-use bags.

There's plenty of stylish reusable bags that have popped up over the past few years that would make a great small gift/stocking filler.

Why is this important?

Around 150 Million tons of single-use plastic is produced every year— most of which ends up in landfill, or worse: our rivers and oceans.

Plastic bags are just one part of this gigantic mountain of single-use waste we're adding to every day, and they're also particularly damaging to wildlife through entanglement and ingestion.

Ulimately, this problem is entirely avoidable! Simply by remembering a bag when we go shopping the amount of waste we produce can be drastically reduced.

Recycling isn't the answer here, we need to reduce and refuse. for the sake of the planet.
